INSPIRING * BELIEVING * ACHIEVING
“Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)
‘In doing this we aim to enable each child to flourish by celebrating their individual strengths so that their greatness is not overlooked. This creates a sense of dignity, respect and love for themselves, which they can then recognise and celebrate in others within the community and the world.’
Our vision is based on the teaching of Jesus through the Bible; Jesus taught it was important to ‘love thy neighbour as thyself and used the story of the Good Samaritan to illustrate this telling us that by having love and respect for ourselves, we can impart this to others; and showing us the importance of loving those who are not like us as well. 1 Corinthians 13 describes the importance of love in its many different forms.
Complementing this, our overarching core values are Love and Peace.
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11).
These are supported through secondary values of:
Compassion, Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.(1 Peter 3:8)
Forgiveness, Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times. (Matthew 18:21-22)
Courage, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Equality, There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28) and
Justice, But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24)
These are embedded throughout the school and addressed regularly though school and class worship.
