Lympstone C of E Primary School new starter book

Lympstone C of E Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled School. Devon County Council is the admissions authority, responsible for the admissions policies and decisions on applications for admission. We have an admissions policy for each academic year. They are written to comply with the School Admissions Code and School Admissions Appeals Code. We take part in the co-ordinated admissions schemes of Devon County Council.

Starting school for the first time.

If starting school for the first time, you will need to apply for a place by contacting the Schools Admissions Team at Devon County Council. Applications are made from November to January in the year prior to the one in which they are due to start.  Currently our planned admission number for Reception intake is 30.

If there are no places available you will be invited to join the waiting list.  The Admission Team will contact you when a place is available.

If you are offered a place your child will be welcomed to start in September and will follow our school induction programme.

Starting our school as an in year admission

If you wish to transfer your child to our school during any academic year you are welcome to visit the school and applications must then be submitted to the Admissions Team.  Once this has been processed you will be welcomed to start with us immediately.

Whether your child is starting school for the first time or if you are considering changing schools and joining us, you are encouraged to visit the school with your family during the school day before you apply.

Our Ofsted 2022 inspection recognised that:

"New pupils are welcomed and quickly settle."
